David "Everest" Ersland is an adventure and endurance athlete at heart, but a fun and lighthearted kid in reality. After being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2019, he has endured a long and arduous road back to endurance sports, with a new and profound outlook on his participation in them.

Rather than competing for podium, he thrives for the adventure and treasures the opportunity to simply be alive to participate. But don't let his carpe diemist lifestyle fool you.

He is still working his ass off to perform at the highest level possible, competing in two 100-mile gravel bike races and running the Grand Canyon's Rim to Rim to Rim (42 miles and 11,000 ft in elevation gain) over the span of four months in 2023.
